What is Tadalafil?

At Pharmacy on the Park, Tadalafil is compounded in our pharmacy from a prescription, in the strength and form your prescriber orders.
How does it work?
Blocks PDE5, relaxing smooth muscle and improving blood flow; it lasts longer than sildenafil.
What is it used for?
Erectile dysfunction, enlarged prostate symptoms and pulmonary hypertension. Your prescriber determines the use, dose and monitoring.
How is it used?
- Troche. Troches are placed between the cheek and gum and allowed to dissolve slowly. Avoid eating or drinking until fully dissolved.
- Oral liquid. Oral liquids are shaken well and measured with the oral syringe we provide.
Follow the directions on your label. The strength, amount and schedule are set by your prescriber.
Side effects and safety
Commonly reported: Headache, flushing, back pain, low blood pressure. Do not combine with nitrates. Call your prescriber or us about any reaction that concerns you.
Who should use caution?
Anyone taking nitrates for chest pain, and people with severe heart disease or very low blood pressure. Share your full medical history and medication list with your prescriber.
How should it be stored?
Store troches at room temperature unless your label says otherwise. Check your label: some liquids are refrigerated. Shake well before each dose. Always follow the storage directions and beyond-use date on your label, and keep medications out of reach of children and pets.
Why is it compounded?
Compounding lets us prepare Tadalafil in the exact strength your prescriber orders, in forms such as troche, oral liquid. Flavoring helps pets and people take it more easily. We can also leave out dyes, fillers or allergens when needed.
